WiNetworks Announces Pico Base Station for Optimized Indoor & Outdoor WiMAX Coverage
WiNetworks Announces Pico Base Station for Optimized Indoor & Outdoor WiMAX Coverage
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)----WiNetworks, a pioneer and leader in the
development and integration of WiMAX 802.16e Wave 2 (MIMO)
technologies, has announced the availability of a Pico Base Station for
optimizing indoor and outdoor WiMAX coverage. The Pico Base Station,
part of the Win-Max family of products, is available in the 2.XGHz and
3.XGHz frequency range.
The WiN7200 is a scalable, single piece
mini base station that provides dedicated outdoor coverage and enhanced
in-building services and capacity. The small size and limited output
power make it an ideal choice for indoor/outdoor installations which
deliver WiMAX high speed broadband. The smaller mini-size makes this
solution the lowest cost base station available for a high speed WiMAX
access.
Building upon the success of the Compact Base Station
(WiN7000), the Pico Base Station uses the same architecture and
software for easy integration and deployment in hybrid environments.
Both products support interfaces to the ASN Gateway and follow the
WiMAX Forum's recommendations for interoperability. This allows the
Pico Base Station to be installed in any existing network with complete
interoperability to all 3rd party WiMAX Certified equipment.
Monica
Paolini, President of Senza Fili Consulting, experts in developing a
wireless data strategy and in assessing the demand for wireless
services, states, "Indoor and high-capacity coverage have become
top-priority issues for operators. A wide variety of new network
topologies will emerge and include different base station
configurations". WiNetworks' new Pico Base Station will fill this need
for indoor coverage in a flexible and cost effective manner.
"We
are proud to be able to offer the market a Pico base station solution
that will optimize both outdoor and indoor coverage," states Mr. Zvika
Harnik, CEO of WiNetworks Ltd., "by re-using our existing software and
architectural structure, we are able to offer the operators a stable,
field proven product that is also very low in cost."
The Compact
and Pico Base Station Family (WiN7000-7200 series) and Customer Premise
Equipment (WiN5000 series) are part of the Win-Max E series product
family and are managed by the WiNMS Network Management System. All
Win-Max products are SOC based.
WiNetworks will be showing the
Pico Base Station at WiMAX Forum Global Congress, June 17-18, in
Amsterdam, and at CommunicAsia, June 17-20, in Singapore.
