New Universal iPod and iPhone External Battery From Slupower

New Universal iPod and iPhone External Battery From SlupowerChina's Slupower has a new 3400mah universal additional battery for both iPod and iPhone… I quite like the simple design and the retractable USB cable to recharge the battery from a PC or MAC or iPod/iPhone cable… If you're interested please contact Slupower directly since I'm not sure where to get these babies.

Pimp Your PS3 or Xbox360 with the Wasabi Collection

Pimp Your PS3 or Xbox360 with the Wasabi Collection
A couple of weeks ago the Japanese company Gametech sent us a set of stickers for the Xbox360, PSP, PS3, and iPhone. I finally took time to pimp my PS3 and X360 and today I'll share my experience.

It's important to stress the Wasabi Collection stickers are made from good material, I particularly like the nice satiny finish and feel they gave to both my PS3 and X360. Another impressive achievement is their design quality in terms of drawing and reproduction… absolutely flawless and amazingly reproduced.

Ready to Ramble?
My biggest concern was Gametech only lent us their stickers and made it clear they had to be returned (?!?!?!?) after the test… As you can imagine I was quite puzzled by this, how will my PS3 and X360 look once the stickers are removed? Would I have clean the game consoles for hours to remove glue stains once the test was over?

With a huge question mark surrounding the decision as to whether or not test these stickers, I finally gave it a try.

Despite having two left hands, placing the stickers was easy, particularly on the X360. The PS3 was a little bit trickier to handle especially on the lid, but if you take the time and clean the game console before hand it will be pretty easy.

Result
Breathtaking... Seriously the stickers are AMAZING and make your PS3 or X360 look completely different. Have a look at the gallery below and you'll see how stunning they look. The satiny finish is way better than the shiny plastic on the PS3.

A little minus on the X360 set, as you can see below the pieces don't always match.

Real Cat Tail USB Memory

Real Cat Tail USB MemoryDamn I wish this was a real cat tail cut into pieces and stuffed with a USB thumb memory key. As a full time member of the CCC (Comite Contre les Chats, a fake French organization), I wish this was true…

Seriously, I'm not that cruel. Granted I'm not a cat person, more a dog one… But I will never hurt an animal… But I love the concept of a fake 2GB cat tail USB memory…

This Week On BotJunkie

This Week On BotJunkieThis week on BotJunkie began with an iRobot Create hacked to fetch beer soda from a fridge, after which we watched a robot submarine competition in Singapore, then we turned things up a notch with some NSFW video translations of R2-D2, started following a year long project to draw 165 bots with stuff, asked a robot to make a sandwich (nicely), witnessed the first attempted flight of a robot helicopter with hexapod legs, saw the new black NXT block in action on a rapid-firing robot LEGO tank, were a little bit wary of a Japanese rescue robot that eats people, admired a badass picture of Orbswarm stuffed with fireworks, waited patiently for a Kuka industrial robot to serve ice cream, picked out a bunch of pictures to get robotized, watched iCub creepily play the drums, let some robot wallpaper remind us that robots are always everywhere, lusted after an autonomous flying WiFi router, watched an android named Justin dance like in Pulp Fiction, admired a bunch of big pictures of robots from the Boston Globe, watched a weird tin robot sitcom, got pissed at another alarmist article about killer robots, were impressed with a tool-using hexapod from JPL in 2005, and finished off the week with a bot with stuff.

Plantraco 1-72 Scale RC Spitfire

Plantraco 1-72 Scale RC Spitfire

Re-enact the Battle of Britain in your living room with this 1/72 scale RC Spitfire MK XVI that has a wingspan of just 6 inches and an overall weight of 2.7 grams. The motor itself is just 4mm in size and spins an equally tiny 32mm propeller, and while the fuselage is made from foam, I’m pretty sure it will easily survive any crashes given the plane’s limited max airspeed.

With the fully proportional transmitter remote the 1/72 scale Spitfire is a bit steep at $149.99, but if you’ve already got Plantraco microflight planes in your fleet, you can buy the Spitfire by itself for $99.99.

Magnetic Photo Boards With Photoshop & Illustrator Palette Magnets

These Magnetic Photo Boards from meninos might not provide much inspiration at your next design meeting, but they come with a set of either Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator palette magnets to at least put you in the right mindset. And even though it just doesn’t feel right to pay for either PS or AI, a 30-inch version of the white board with either set of magnets runs $80, while a 20-inch version is a bit more affordable at $65. And if you’d rather just use them on your fridge, the palette magnets are also sold separately at $25 per application.

Intel Develops The World’s First Embedded Balanced Antenna For Digital TV On Your Laptop

Intel Develops The World’s First Embedded Balanced Antenna For Digital TV On Your Lapto

This seems like an obvious upgrade now that the U.S. and eventually Canada are converting to DTV broadcasts, but Intel is apparently the first company to develop a balanced antenna for digital TV that can be embedded inside a laptop. So down the line if you find yourself stuck in an airport or anywhere without a wireless internet connection, you’ll at least be able to enjoy the boob tube (can we still call it that with tube-less flat screen displays?) without the need for an annoying external TV antenna.
